dominica-flagAfter allowing time for attendees to return from the huge celebration in Dominica on November 3rd, CCNY also celebrated the 30th anniversary of independence with a literary program on Thursday, November 13.  Dominica’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Crispin Gregoire, kicked off the festivities, and CCNY Vice President for Enrollment Management, Celia Lloyd, presented Asst. Dean & Chief Librarian Pamela Gillespie with an array of works by Dominican authors. Many thanks to Prof. Herbert Seignoret for making all the event arrangements.

Titles received include: “A Visitor’s Guide to Kweyol,” Ras Mo’s “tjebe/hold on” CD, “Rain on a Tin Roof,” and “The Island Man Sings His Song.”  All eleven titles are now being processed and should be available for use shortly.
